Dental Health Week 2022: Love Your Teeth | Casula Dental Care

by | Jul 26, 2022 | Dental Health Week

August 1 to 7 is Dental Health Week.

The 2022 DHW campaign emphasises the value of treating your teeth and gums with love and care to maintain your smile.

Dental Health Week: Four Key Messages

The four core messages of the 2022 Dental Health Week campaign and the ADA’s primary oral health messages are intended to emphasise how crucial it is to love and uphold good oral health to preserve your teeth for life:

#1. Use fluoride toothpaste to brush your teeth twice daily

Properly brushing your mouth with fluoride toothpaste will prevent irritation from overbrushing. And if your toothbrush is soiled, smells, or has worn or frayed bristles, replace it as soon as possible—preferably within three months.

#2. Every day, use dental floss or interdental brushes to clean in between your teeth

We at Casula Dental Care always tell our customers how important it is to floss daily.

Gum disease is uncomfortable. To eliminate food particles and plaque in between your teeth, floss daily. If gum disease is not treated, it can progress and endanger your oral and general health.

Plaque can accumulate below the gum line, which can cause gum disease if it is not removed.

#3. Limit added sugar intake while maintaining a healthy, balanced diet

Your oral health is impacted by what you eat. Our everyday diet provides nutrients for our lips.

While occasional sweet snacks are acceptable, rinse them with water to eliminate excess sugar before brushing.

Don’t forget about natural teeth-cleaning foods like apples and carrots. They make the ideal portable snacks.

#4. Regularly visit your Casula dentist for check-ups and preventive care

It is crucial to have a professional dental cleaning and inspection. That’s why you need to schedule appointments 2 times a year to ensure that there isn’t any buildup or decay.

Early dental problem detection can spare you a great deal of discomfort and expense.

Importance of Practicing Good Dental Hygiene

A healthy mouth and teeth are indicators of a healthy body. Dental issues like cavities or gum disease can make it difficult for you to eat or speak clearly, and they can also hurt and make your breath unpleasant.

Unhealthy dental hygiene can also significantly negatively impact other body parts, such as the heart, diabetes, pregnancy, and chronic inflammatory conditions like arthritis, to name a few. This is something that many individuals may not be aware of.

Maintaining good dental hygiene is essential to your oral and general health.

Regular dental hygiene procedures manage bacterial populations to avoid problems with oral health and the spread of illness to other regions of the body.

This is why it’s crucial to wash your teeth twice daily, floss, and make regular dental visits—at least every six months.

Keep in mind that the greatest oral hygiene regimen is one you can follow regularly. Consult your dentist to discuss a customised oral health programme that will suit your needs.

Love Your Teeth!

For healthy teeth and gums, proper dental hygiene is crucial. Additionally, you must maintain good oral hygiene to have a long and healthy smile.

Your Casula dentist will provide excellent guidance for your at-home oral hygiene regimen, but the remaining work is up to you.
